BMI Calculator in KG and CM
A BMI calculator in kg and cm calculates your Body Mass Index (BMI) by using your weight in kilograms (kg) and height in centimeters (cm). The formula is:
BMI = weight (kg) / (height (m))²
To use this formula:
- Convert your height from centimeters to meters (e.g., 170 cm = 1.7 m).
- Square your height in meters (1.7 m × 1.7 m = 2.89 m²).
- Divide your weight in kilograms by the squared height in meters (e.g., 70 kg ÷ 2.89 m² = 24.2 BMI).
BMI Calculator For Men and Women
A BMI calculator for both men and women uses the same formula to calculate Body Mass Index (BMI). The formula is:
BMI = weight (kg) / height (m)²
Steps to Calculate BMI:
- Measure your weight in kilograms (kg).
- Measure your height in meters (m). If your height is in centimeters (cm), convert it by dividing by 100 (e.g., 170 cm = 1.7 m).
- Square your height: Multiply your height in meters by itself (e.g., 1.7 m × 1.7 m = 2.89 m²).
- Divide your weight by the squared height to get the BMI value.
BMI Categories (for both men and women):
- Underweight: BMI < 18.5
- Normal weight: BMI 18.5 – 24.9
- Overweight: BMI 25 – 29.9
- Obesity: BMI ≥ 30
While the BMI formula is the same for both men and women, it is important to note that BMI does not differentiate between muscle mass and fat. So, muscular individuals may have a higher BMI despite having low body fat.
